John had an innate ability to form a deep and immediate connection with everyone he met. John made people feel important and heard. While being an educator was such a large part of John’s life, even more important was his incredible nature as a husband, father, son (-in-law), brother (-in-law), uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
John loved starting and carrying on traditions, and creating lasting memories for those around him, most especially for his wife and their twins. Sophie and Noah shared some of their favorite traditions, including a birthday scavenger hunt each year, complete with rhyming clues and fun activities. They also lovingly remember family vacations, ComicCon in July, December Nights in Balboa Park, and so much more.
John absolutely loved life, and made the most of his time with his family and friends. He would always, without fail, make time for the most important moments, and make every effort to make those moments special for everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of giving all of himself to those he loved.
